If you did not make the first two rounds of the 2014 Mountain West Vintage Trials season – you missed both fun & a bit of a weather ‘trial’.
Saturday was a great day, with everyone enjoying the sections and 3-4 mile loop trail. It wasn’t until later in the afternoon that the wind began to blow, clouds came over and cold weather came in. This would not stop the traditional Saturday evening bar-b-que potluck though! With table & chairs set up in John Holbrook’s bike trailer – John grilled outside and everyone enjoyed the feast inside.
Sunday brought more cold temps, more wind & weather, but the event went on as planned. Despite some hail showers, everyone who started the event – finished the event.
MWVTA user “Brewtus” posted a great recap of the event in the Forums. (The forums are a great way to stay in touch with your fellow riders.)
The results for the opening rounds of the 2014 season are posted on the Results page. And we have photos from the event up in the Photo Gallery.
Mark your calendars for Rounds 3 & 4 – May 31st/June 1st – Sipapu, NM. This is a great area to ride and is only about 30 mins (20 miles) outside of Taos. See you there!
